My favorite is when a team does the four fingers thing when they're down 35-0 or so.

Not from a football coach, but I love it any time a baseball player or coach refers to "cockshots." Cracks me up every time.

    "There's a lot of parity in the league this year." (You can already pencil in who's going 7-0, 6-1, 5-2, 4-3, 3-4, 2-5, 1-6, 0-7)

"But that's why they play the game. We'll go down there and see what happens." (Barring a miracle, we're going to get our asses handed back to us in a wrinkled brown paper sack).

About the kicker who had "academic issues" last year:

"That idiot was in the stands with his face painted and waving pom poms."

There's always the "We're excited," quote.

Along the lines of the "league parity" quote.....
"Any team can beat anybody on any given Friday in this district."

    "It is what it is."

"I don't really like to make predictions but if we stay healthy and take care of the ball, we should have a pretty good season."

"We're not very fast, we're not very big... we'll be lucky to win one or two." That was from a coach whose team went undefeated and won a state championship last year.

It looks like that's all he is coaching.

That, or when they go 9-1, the obvious conclusion is that his great coaching made the difference.

Before I even finish the first post, I'll throw this one out and then see how many times it's listed: "These kids work so hard."

    Damn, I only found two.

Dominate the first three and nobody will care about the fourth.
