    Don't be so hard on yourself. As Ragu noted, being an asshole hasn't kept some of us from lofty positions around here (like me).

    If everyone who has been an asshole here left, we'd have, oh, never mind. I'm not going there.

    I can appreciate the sincerity of the original post in this thread, but in terms of creativity, emotion and really grabbing me, I just don't see how I can put it in the top 10 farewell posts in SportsJournalists.com history.

    Hope you stay but if you are going to leave follow proper protocol. Don't post a tearful goodbye cruel SJ note. If you decide to come back at some point note will follow you around.

    It's better form to just delete your account and slink away unnoticed.
