Spent some time there years ago on business (not journalism related). Area is pure Appalachia, near the spot where Ohio meets West Virginia and Kentucky. Only can remember two good things about the place -- a nearby state park with a half decent public golf course and a nice lake for canoeing and a lady (I use the term loosely) I met in a local bar. Between the two, they made the second week of the visit relatively pleasant, but not to the extent that I would ever consider relocating there. Can't imagine what it might be like these days given the economic decline in areas like that (and I am not talking about the recent crisis).

What the hell is there to cover, then?

Don't tell me you are one of those that thinks there's nothing to cover if it isn't on TV somewhere. ::) ::)

Just like at about 75 percent of the papers nationwide, you'd cover high schools and lots of them.

There's a juco that has had some national success in women's basketball. IIRC, they also host a national tournament there every so often.
Can't remember the name, wanna say Shawnee State or something like that.
