Any opportunity to work with a guy like Bob Padecky is a good one.

Shameless bump. And does anyone know what Jim Barger is doing?

Jim Barger accepted a job in Bristol, Conn., where he will be ESPN's senior manager of integrity in the Statistics and Analysis Division.

Anybody know how many resumes they received on this one?

For my $.02 worth, I've freelanced for the Press-Democrat, primarily about cycling, for the past several years. Jim Barger and his predecessor, George Manes, were more than fair to me. And with rare exception, the staff/desk were pros when confirming files and when they had questions.

Any word on this one? And if somebody wants to hire me, feel free. That would be great, considering I never applied.

I'm just kind of curious. It's a pretty big gig for there to be silence on it.

guess I'll give this one a shameless bump. though, i figure most shops are leaving positions open for an extended period of time.

I guess when they absolutely cease to function without an SE, they'll get around to it...
