They just replayed the 2000 NCAA final on the Big Ten network an hour or so ago, and it really is hilarious to see what a completely worthless hack-shot artist Dupay was as a player.

At least four times in that game, Dupay was left in the dust by an opposing player (amazingly enough invariably a black player) and every single time Dupay tried to push the opponent in the back, hack them around the neck or upper body, or blatantly kick them in the legs (in the infamous play with Cleaves, he tried to kick him in the legs three times as they tumbled under the basket).

Which made it not even slightly surprising (and also hilarious) the next season when Florida came up to play at Michigan State, that Zach Randolph brought around a tomahawk elbow which just about deposited Dupay's head in the upper deck, knocking him ice cold. I suspect in the pregame film session Izzo said something to the whole team very much like, "any time Dupay comes within six feet of you and you have a chance, do whatever you gotta do to leave him lying face down on the court."

    :D :D :D :D :D
