"It is not true," Paige said in an e-mail. "She jumped halfway across the room, that's how much she enjoyed my forceful pinching of her ass."

Either that or she and Woody had this type of conversation ...

I would remind the panel that Paige once (I was reliably advised) dropped the C word in the newsroom on a female staffer at the Denver Post.

That got a guy fired from the USA Today sports department in roughly that same time period.

A great deal of energy was expended in smoothing over that Denver situation, I suppose ...

I'm sure that Harold Reynolds will be outraged if nobody is dismissed.

If this is true, and it's way too early to tell, are some males in the media imitating some of the A-hole pro athletes who think they're entitled to anything and everything they see, including women? We seem to be hearing more and more allegations of this type. Wonder if this is a new trend, or was it just swept under the rug years ago?

It would seem so. Could be more evidence for Reynolds in his suit against ESPN.

Hell, if Tirico can tell a woman he would like to bend her over his desk and screw her, and Salisbury can show cameraphone pix of his wang, why shouldn't Woody be able to play a little grab-ass?

Say what on the USA Today thing? I missed that one completely.
