Nothing like a Saturday night, holiday weekend news dump.

    Angelo Di Carlo
BREAKING: Notre Dame confirms to WNDU that quarterback Everett Golson is no longer enrolled at ND. They can't say why due to privacy laws.

#NotreDame officially confirms to Tribune that Everett Golson is no longer enrolled. Again, two sources say reason is Res Life violation.

Assistant SE at my paper covers Notre Dame. I think I just witnessed my first aneurism.

Is it too late for Gunner Kiel to come back? Jeez, they just lost both of their young hotshot QBs.

Bet the domers never thought they'd have to pin their hopes on Tommy Rees again.

    Only link I'm seeing: http://www.wndu.com/sports/ndfootball/headlines/Golson-out-ND-208970441.html

    No way this ends well.
  5. Accorung to sources, he's leaving due to a residential life violation.

From that SI story: "Golson’s departure leaves three scholarship players on the team’s roster: Tommy Rees, Andrew Hendrix and Malik Zaire."

Holy shit! Only 3 scholarship players are left on the team?! That's unpossible!

If you're not a quarterback, do you really even matter?

I've been seeing speculation on other boards that unless Kiel has actually attended a class at Cincinnati, he could return to ND and still be eligible in August.

I'm sure that would go over great in the locker room:

"Screw y'all, I'm not getting enough playing time. I'm going to Cincy."

(three weeks later): "Hey everybody, good to be back. Cheer, cheer for Old Notre Dame ..."

In what has to be considered a moral victory for Notre Dame, initial reports are that his departure was related to academics and not to a rape allegation.
