I've been in those situations. It's brutal. Getting to the place where your car is towed, going to an ATM to get cash (and they usually want more than you can take out in one ATM visit) and then they throw in additional fees. If it happens to you once, you will never risk it again.

Had a friend's car towed from the beach, so we took him to pick it up, and he raised hell, even though he clearly parked somewhere he shouldn't have. And we all knew it. Made a big stink about it (not quite like this), and I felt bad for the guy working at the impound lot. That job must suck.
