    Job Responsibilities

    The ideal candidate will have an in-depth and broad knowledge of sports statistics and will be in charge of the live-event night oversight of data integrity. The Manager of Statistics Researchers will assist the Senior Manager of Integrity in creating a process for ensuring the accuracy of all ESPN statistical data and ensuring that the process is executed perfectly on a nightly basis. The Manager of Stats Researchers will be responsible for the nightly accuracy of data that is distributed to all entities, from ESPN.com to television to wireless outlets.

    Strong people management skills and a demonstrated ability to hold staff accountable to stringent standards is a must. Demonstrated excellence in attention to detail is a must. Should have demonstrated ability to grow a staff.

    Required Qualifications

    A qualified candidate will have 3-7 years experience working with statistics, preferably in online, television or print sports. Team management experience is a plus. Must have excellent knowledge about scorekeeping and statistical record-keeping for most sports. Should have demonstrated ability to set goals and to hold staff accountable for meeting those goals. Meticulous attention to detail a must. Should have a working understanding of data formats, language and the processes necessary to provide them to end users. Also must have demonstrated excellence working with multiple departments to achieve a common goal.

    In addition, the ideal candidate will posses the following qualifications: Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Heavy interest in fantasy games. In-depth knowledge of ESPN.com's coverage of all sports and games. A thorough knowledge of television production usage of data in on-air and research applications. Working knowledge of ESPN New Media's products and technologies.
