Erik Wemple to the rescue!

New WaPo blogger Erik Wemple promises to keep an eye on the media:

He will focus primarily on media hypocrisy and bias. This has potential.

 

Hardy har har, you so silly. Judging from the content up this morning, the Post will get a light hand applied, if at all.

 

So he'll be a less entertaining Jack Shafer?

 

I like his promise that he will do actual reporting, but he told me two or three times in his introductory post that there's almost no need for yet another media watchdog. Criticism of Washington media is a nickel a dozen, if that. I'll check it out from time to time because I'll be a media member in that neck of the woods soon, but I don't see why a typical reader would care.
