Giants give Manning a big $97 mil extension. When is enough, enough?

When you stop selling PSLs at 20K apiece.

  5. Silver spoon? That characterization seems way off to me. Archie didn't inherit any wealth, he worked hard for it, and Eli's first contract probably paid him better than what Archie made in the NFL. I'd use the term silver spoon about a lot of people before I'd ever think to use it about Eli.

The only number that matters is the $35 million he's guaranteed.

And to answer Drip's question: when the league stops receiving $2 billion in broadcast rights.

How many silver spoons go to Ole Miss to play football as opposed to one of the glamor programs?

That's a lot of money for a guy who can't handle the wind at home. I guess they're confident that the new stadium won't play the same way.

I look forward to the NFL's cries of poverty two summers from now.

And if you're going to complain the players are getting too much of the pie, shouldn't you, you know, not give guys $100 mil contracts?

Archie is from Drew and goodness knows he wasn't born with a silver spoon. His boys? Well that's a different story. I don't think they've had to want for much in life.

While this is true they also were pretty grounded kids, best I could tell.

I hope Eli can get by on that while many Giants fans skip mortgage payments and a meal during the week they buy single-game tickets to watch his pampered ass play.

Does Archibald have enough of a retirement fallback cushion with his boys?
