No other details at this moment. I haven't seen a link yet, but Dana Jacobsen said it had just broke right as "First Take" was ending.

Note: I changed the headline so as to not freak out any Rangers fans who may not have seen or heard the news yet. And, apparently the news is a lot better than what originally broke.

3 a.m. Eastern (I assume) was about nine hours ago. Hopefully at this point, no news is good news and they've stabilized him.

Up here, they're saying he has a lacerated spleen and is out for the season, one game before the Rangers follow him.

NHL Live is reporting the same thing.

I just did a story on a kid who had a lacerated spleen during FB season (and came back to play by the end of the year).. if they hadn't got him to the hospital when they did, he would have died.
he might be a turd on the ice, but you don't wish that on anyone except Claude Lemieux

Nice to see the NYDN throw in the bit about the possible link to escorts in the story. Gives that potential tragedy a nice touch....

But I'm glad to see they are taking shit in the comments section for it.
What possible justification could they have for putting that in there? What possible connection to the game and his injury does it have?

Christ that makes me cringe, though. The words lacerated and spleen don't work too well together for me.
