Dumb question: Redskins stats

Sean Taylor still leads the team in interceptions; I run the top two interceptors on our Sunday page.

Does he stay in there? Should he be taken out?

    He's still the leader, no?

I would think you have keep him there.

Capsule from nflmedia.com lists Fletcher as the team leader with three. Like 'beat, I disagree: those picks didn't un-happen when Taylor died.

Edit: and since NFL PR saw fit to make them disappear, guess it wasn't such a dumb question after all. (Upon further review, they also list Chatman as Miami's leading rusher. That explains it -- they're apparently only considering players on the active roster.)

It's like a trade. The player in question still had the stats he or she compiled with the team.

He's still the team leader in interceptions. That won't change unless Reed Doughty goes in and picks off six passes the rest of the year.

Taking him out of the stat sheet would be like he died before the season began... or he never existed. He still made the plays when he was alive. That should count for the stat sheet.

The only thing I can say is that it happened. If the agate is truly reflecting everything that happened in the NFL, you have to account for Taylor's death somehow.

That said, it's really unsettling to read those words.
