Give Leaf a month, he'll still lose. It's a spread option offense. He can't run it. It doesn't suit him at all. That's why they'll now lose to Oregon State in a few weeks.

Again, what was the long term interest that was ignored?

(And this isn't the NFL -- schools don't report injuries, and given that Dixon and his family specifically requested that they not release it, I would imagine HIPAA becomes a legit concern.)

I know schools don't report, but the casinos may not enjoy getting taken to the cleaners because of this type of incident.

Let me make sure I have this straight. Before the game, Dixon had a torn ACL. After the game, he still has a torn ACL. What did the coach do wrong?

You have a torn ACL, you probably get reconstructive surgery. He gave it a go. It didn't work. Nothing is hurt worse now, except maybe Dixon's Heisman chances.

And on that subject, of all years, couldn't a defensive player at least be talked about? What about the linebacker from Ohio State?

    What a pussy.

Not like he finished a cross country race on a broken leg or something.

People ... Tebow, if anything, is the best OFFENSIVE player in the country. I think McFadden is, but I think the Tebow argument is OK.

But Glenn Dorsey is the best player in college football.

  6. The big question is whether this will affect his baseball career with the Braves.

Torn ACLs aren't the sports death sentences they once were. He'll probably be fine.

I think a .180 average in Rookie ball with no power will take care of that all by itself.

Dorsey might be. That said, it doesn't neessarily mean he's had the best season and deserves Heisman hype.

Too bad, he's a great player. His quarterback play reminds me a lot of Tom Brady because he's so calm and when he moves around in the pocket, he glides smoothly.
But I still think the award should still go to Darren McFadden. I don't think we should penalize him for being on a crappy team.

P.S. If Michigan wins today and Mike Hart has a great game, I think he should be right up there with McFadden.

Ummm ... no. He's missed too many games to even be under consideration.
