Senior Bryan Pata murdered in Kendall tonight - it's on the WWL, but no details other than that and a picture of him.

University of Miami defensive tackle Bryan Pata was shot and killed Tuesday night at an apartment complex in Miami, Miami-Dade County police said. Police had no other details. Pata, a 6-foot-4, 272-pound senior, is from Miami.

I know nothing of the situation, however, if there was ever an example of the phrase "lack of institutional control", Larry Coker's Program is that example.


I am well aware that a coach can not possibly know everything about what these college age kids are doing...But you can have SOME idea.

I dont know all the details, but not sure how you could pin this on Coker.

Dead on, Slappy...until we know what happened, that's not fair to ream Coker.
Say, for example, what if it was a random robbery? Is it Larry's fault that Pata was in the wrong place at the wrong time?

University of Miami defensive end Bryan Pata was shot and killed Tuesday night, shortly after leaving the practice field, according to a university official with knowledge of the situation.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity because a formal announcement still was being prepared by the university, had no knowledge of the circumstances surrounding Pata’s death.
Miami-Dade police refused to release specific information about what happened.
