I see one flaw in the plan: SportsJournalists.com get-togethers are to include baseball.

I don't know what the Tribe is currently playing, but it ain't baseball. :)

Beachland Ballroom and Tavern. Go there. Kick ass food. Kick ass bar.

Don't forget to take 'em to Tower City to watch all the graft and maybe catch a glimpse of a bum washing his balls in the restroom sink. ;D

The chances of me making an outing by myself are zero, but I have always figured if it was a place my wife was interested in, we could make it a couples getaway.

    So...where ya going in 2011? :)

I may be going on a long trip in April-May, which would eat up almost all of my vacation time.
If I don't get that trip, I have to consider this.
I interview for the other trip next month. I'll know after that.

Damn...so close to a location that I would not be able to resist...and yet so far.

The wife and I are in. That's an easy drive for us. We visited Cleveland a few years ago for a friend's wedding. Loved it. Pleasantly surprised. My favorite thing was the booze cruise that went out into the lake and back up the river through town. Very cool.

What's Cleveland known for, food wise? In other words, what would I not be able to finish? :)

I was REALLY hoping for the Kandahar/Bagram '10 outing. :(

I suspect I will attempt to attend next year's outing. Spent parts of two summers playing basketball in the Brunswick/Strongsville area and had a blast. Went back a few years ago for a Springsteen concert/Rock and Roll Hall of Fame visit, which was also an outstanding time.

    Right now, count me in.

I was hoping I was remembering wrong and we could pair this with the Rib Burn-off, but it's held Memorial Day weekend.

I'm going to try to make it, but no guarantees.

    My thoughts exactly.

It would be quite awesome for a contingent of SportsJournalists.commers to show up at the RR Hall attired in such a way.
