Driver accidentally hits teen, stops to help and then gets beaten

The police must have been caught in traffic. What an effed up city with little hope
for change.

 

Someone should have warned him it was a good place to get your ass kicked.

I work in downtown Detroit and commute through one of the worst areas of town. It's actually the neighborhood from the Clint Eastwood flick from a few years back. If I were to hit someone, I now know I can't stop. I'd have to call the police while driving (which happens to be another offense).

Update: they found two people who were involved in the beating. Still looking for others.

 

Attempting not to sound trollish here and hopefully it doesn't evolve into more than a question. But could this, or would this, be considered a hate crime?

 

Yes it is and no it won't.
