Did he really just invoke Kennedy's death as a reason the media shouldn't cover this story!?!

I think that presser would have been more effective if he'd invoked Ted Kennedy's death a few more times.

Edit: Inky beat me to it.

That wasn't Mark Sanford bad, but it was pretty damn awful.

I declare a moratorium on all reporting when a Kennedy dies. That goes for Massachusetts Kennedys, former Padres catcher Terry Kennedy, lineman Cortez Kennedy, my high school friend Doug Kennedy. Basically every day a Kennedy dies somewhere, so that means no reporting on a basketball coach's inability to keep his pants zipped.

ESPNews goes to commercial the second he walks off the stage.

When they come back, they've moved on to football. Not one word of follow up.

To be fair, it may take hours to sort out whatever he just said.

I would like to blame the media for all the times I have gotten drunk and hooked up with some floozie in a bar as well.

And half of the state of Kentucky just asked, "Ted who?"

Seriously, Rick? You're Rick Fucking Pitino. The Courier-Journal would be a jackshit newspaper if they had a breaking news item in this case and didn't lead with it over Ted Kennedy's death.

And ESPN is already over-analyzing this bit.

The prevailing attitude in Louisville has to be that the only thing shocking in this whole ordeal is that it took *this* long for something like this to happen. He's a womanizing scumbag and always has been. That's never been a secret.

The presser and this thread have given me a much needed laugh today. Rick was better off keeping quiet.
