Dolphins player lashes out at sportswriter

    Saw this on Romenesko ... doesn't say who the sports writer is, only that he was from another south Florida paper ...

    What struck me on this was that the Herald didn't send a staffer to the game, instead hiring a freelancer (albeit a pretty good one) ... are things that bad there now?

    A lot of papers send several writers and still hire a freelancer. Darlington just left for NFL Network, so they are down a guy.

    It sounds like they're describing Omar Kelly, but I could be wrong.

    Yeah, just checked the Herald website ... they had Clark Spencer and Armando Salguero out there ...

    We used to travel six for some road games and even sometimes then we'd hire a freelancer to help. A lot of places that used to travel six have cut that number in half these days.
