    Add another response.
No, but he has to have a Clinton supporter on the ticket if he doesn't.

If he does, it will be a sign that he thinks he can't win without her...

For the record, I think if he puts her on the ticket, he wins...

    I don't think so.

I think if Obama asks Hillary to be his Veep--and she accepts; I'm not sold that she'd sign on to be anyone's VP--it will hurt him more than it helps. She is so polarizing; there is no middle ground. Either people love her or hate her.

Also, Obama seems to be about changing the political climate and trying to do what's right for the nation. So he names one of the more noted political insiders to his cabinet?

I think Obama loses if he adds Hillary. Too much baggage and too much recent history. I think a lot of people who went with Obama as a breath of fresh air will not like the business-as-usual feeling adding the Clinton name would bring.

They're saying that 40 percent of her supporters will vote for McCain if Obama is the nominee... She's also been doing incredibly well despite being all but counted out for some time now...

    That says a lot...

If they run together they both nullify what they've been saying for months.

He says he's all about change in Washington.

She says he's not qualified and that he was giving one pretty speech while she was running the country and dodging sniper fire as first lady. He's also elitist, not the beer-and-a-shot working girl Hillary is.

So.. as a "change" candidate he's going to pick someone who has been in DC since '92?

And she wants to be the VP to an elitist, out of touch guy who has no experience?

Obama will do just fine with at least a dozen other candidates. no way he even seriously considers Hillary.

My first, and maybe only choice would be Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland.
He was Clinton's first choice for veep and be brings a lot to an Obama ticket.
Namely Ohio, plus experience, but not the DC variety. And he's firmly linked to the Clinton camp.
Gen. Wes Clark is name that has been making the rounds as well.
But I think Strickland is the right way to go.

Some have speculated that if Obama wins the nomination, Hillary would benefit by McCain winning and then running in 2012 assuming McCain is a one-term president.

Would anybody put that past her?

Agree completely. If I'm Obama, I go with Strickland and all but guarantee a win in what could be the most important state in the election.
