DirecTV commercial... in poor taste?

Caught the ad tonight with Craig T. Nelson and the adorable little girl, Carol Anne (who's dead) ripped from "Poltergeist."

I know the little girl -- Heather O'Rourke -- has been gone for years (died at age 12 in 1988), but still, anyone else bothered at all by this?

Yeah, that commercial is lamer than FDR's legs.

    Too soon?

How well known is O'Rourke's death, is it just within horror fans, or more widespread.

GB: Admittedly, I'm a horror fan boi looser, but I believe it's pretty well known

  6. I had forgotten until you mentioned it here, and that's after having seen the commercial.
I don't really have a problem with it.

I didn't know a.) her name; b.) that she was dead; or c.) since when until this board. This commercial got mentioned on some other thread, and that's where I found out she was dead.

    Really had no idea.

I imagine her family is getting paid for it, so it's OK with me.
