    The Detroit Lions currently have an opening for an experienced Digital Media Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Digital Media and Corporate Communications, this position will be responsible for coordinating social media content and assisting with the day-to-day operations and upkeep of the team’s website. This includes social media content generation, execution of the social media schedule, and managing the website’s photo library. This position will coordinate with writers, bloggers and video producers on daily content promotion and will work with the Marketing and Corporate Partnerships department to facilitate social media promotions.


    Hours and Duration of Position:

    This full-time position includes a full benefits package as well as wonderful perks! This position will work out of the Allen Park Training facility and will require travel with the team as well as to other Detroit Lions events. Working for a professional football team requires you to be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands require.


    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    Assist with the management, development, and monetization of the team’s digital media content and strategy, using social media to engage and drive traffic to Detroitlions.com
    Coordinate day-to-day content-related elements of the team’s social media platforms
    Serve as the primary voice of Detroit Lions Twitter Page and other social media platforms
    Coordinate with public relations, marketing and corporate partnerships departments to promote team initiatives
    Remain current on evolving social media landscape and help implement best practices and industry trends
    Monitor analytics for social media and Detroitlions.com
    Coordinate publication of non-football content (marketing, community, ticketing, stadium, youth programs, events, etc.) to Detroitlions.com and social media
    Assist with day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of Detroitlions.com, including photo archive and media bin
    Photograph team functions, including but not limited to practices, cause marketing events and media sessions for use on social media platforms and Detroitlions.com
    Develop, organize and create photo galleries to support football content and non-football initiatives
    Generate team PR multimedia and written content, including weekly blogs, main features, as well as multimedia
    Assist with implementation of business/marketing content plans within Detroit Lions digital assets
    Coordinate with relevant department head(s) regarding business and marketing content plans for Detroit Lions digital assets
    Work with NFL Digital Media team regarding the functional direction and maintenance of Detroitlions.com
    Coordinate workflow of seasonal intern as it pertains to Detroit Lions social media

    General Duties:

    1. Will maintain an appropriate level of knowledge of Microsoft Office and of web tools and software being used
    2. Will participate in team meetings, providing input and suggestions related to Digital Media and other areas as needed; will make recommendations for processes and procedures
    3. Must be motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
    4. Maintains professionalism when communicating with internal and external contacts
    5. Must be accurate and efficient with ability to meet deadlines
    6. Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills
    7. Will adjust work schedule to meet departmental demands
    8. Will keep appropriate information confidential
    9. Will accept other responsibilities and duties required by the supervisor consistent with the objectives and essential functions of this position. Such responsibilities shall be incorporated into the position description if they are ongoing
    10. Will advise supervisor if actual practice (activity) begins to deviate significantly from specified essential functions


    Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor’s degree required; preferred areas of study include digital media, web management, journalism or communications
    2. 2-5 years of professional level experience in digital media or web management and development
    3. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
    4. Comprehensive knowledge in Microsoft Office
    5. Extensive knowledge of and experience with social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter
    6. Experience with Flash, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop,
    7. Knowledge of Wordpress, Flash, Actionscript, and HTML 6 development preferred
    8. Will adjust schedule as needed to meet work goals and time constraints, including working nights, weekends, and holidays as football schedule directs
    9. Maintain professionalism when speaking with professional athletes and coaches in both a work setting and within the context of an interview
    10. Previous experience in sports and entertainment industry preferred
    11. Candidates must possess a valid Driver’s License and a good driving record
