Did you hear what Howard Stern said today?

Well here's a question...how do you discover new bands? To me, the real value in Sirius is finding new songs or new groups I would have never checked out otherwise. And then there's the re-discovering of classics you haven't heard in a while. For me, that makes the money well worth it.

I think those of us who drive a lot should check it out. It's as essential to me on my drive as the brakes in my car.

Former Shareholder of XM -- before the merger.

Holy buckets...worse financial experience of my life. Bought at $36 in 2005...sold (and was HAPPY TO) at $15.50 in 2007. Now it's at, what, 22 cents? And, to think, Apple (AAPL) was at $36 in 2005 as well and I passed on it because I was convinced satellite radio would outlast these mysterious iPods that were constantly losing their charges. Then AAPL went to $200. Whoops.

The iPoding of the World is just the musical version of what's happening in print. Most people don't care to leave their comfort zone. Why deal with someone else's musical playlist when you can make your own? Why deal with one particular sports section in your town when you can 'hunt and peck' from 100 sections a day.

It also explains why the music and publishing industry are fading fast. If you were not established BEFORE access to music and print went digital/Internet-based, it's now even tighter to break in.

Ouch man, that's harsh. Hope you didn't lose too much on that transaction.

I paid $100 for the receiver six months ago. If I can get three years of use out of it, I will be happy.

Journalists could learn a lot from Stern's interviewing style and I'm not talking about the strippers/porn stars.

There are celebrities that I've seen interviewed tons of times on Leno/Letterman who seem completely uninteresting and then I hear them on Stern and immediately they become a lot funnier and more interesting.

His Paul McCartney interview is one of the best ever.

Yes, I always ask baseball's best hitters if they've ever f-f-f-f-f-arted in the catcher's face.

I think the fact that Stern can talk to a person for 20 minutes gives him a huge advantage. That, and people are predisposed to being open on his show.

You cannot go in there and give canned responses.

Yes, I'm aware of that. Thank you very much. It was part of Stern's show, rather than being part of "Meet The Fucking Press."

I know. But when does interviews, many times they are really good and entertaining without being a bunch of dick jokes.

Uh huh. And a lot of them are, "So, are you a three-input girl?"
