Have you heard the dreck that passed for popular music in the 80s? He was a damn Mozart by comparison

 

First four albums were really good (save for "Sussudio" ... ouch). And then there was that little side gig with some other obscure group when he wasn't fronting his own band.

 

Glad he made an exodus from those guys.

 

Hello, I Must Be Going is so good

 

I'm not. He was the group's fourth percussionist ... went through three and produced two albums. Never exactly replaced him. And truth be told ... if Mike and Tony had stuck with Ray Wilson, he had both the voice and enthusiasm to do some Peter Gabriel-type stuff (minus the props in all likelihood). Could have been a lot of fun, though they still would have needed a strong percussionist.

And that doesn't include his work in Brand X, which few will pick at him for because not only was it not fractionally as mainstream as the big group and his solo work, but also because he was strictly a percussionist, similar to his early years with the big group.

(Yes, I got your joke, maumann.)
