Did Kobe & the Warriors combine for the greatest regular season NBA night ever?

Regarding the Jazz: They were in the playoff race until moments before the game, when Houston finished off a Sacramento team not only decimated by injuries and playing its last game under George Karl, but also had three players "resting." Resting for what? On a night that trumpeted the best the NBA has to offer, this was a travesty.

Good point Han. The Jazz had better reasons for a dispirited effort than fondness for Kobe.

I think we previously covered this on the NBA thread, but yeah, you're exactly right. I think it's entirely justifiable for the League to step in and sanction the Kings. There's no feasible reason, other than tanking, for a non-playoff team to claim it's "resting" starters in its final game. As you said, resting for WHAT? This weekend's party binge in Vegas? For god sakes, at least make up some phony injuries or some other excuse to avoid insulting your fan base.

The whole Kings organization has become such a joke.
