Wouldn't it we newsworthy if Dan Quayle or Al Gore had a heart transplant?

He's a former VP. His personal politics aside, it's newsworthy.

News of Quayle receiving a heart transplant would disappear into the ether in 5 minutes. Gore a day.

Has this been a huge story? It was reported on, but I don't feel like it's been blown out of proportion.

I also think jokes about Quayle not being able to spell heart or Gore inventing the heart transplant would be allowed on those threads.

It hit on a Saturday night. I'll bet you a steak dinner that it's played prominently on all the cable nets starting tomorrow. Specifically, I'll predict that at least five primetime anchors from MSNBC, FOX, and CNN will dedicate significant discussion to it in a political context. No way that would happen for Quayle. For Gore it would be somewhere in between.

I hope he recovers fully and i wish him all the best on the outside chance he one day has to stand in front of the Hauge.

Surprised to find Hondo on this thread. No one mentioned Jacksonville.

Tebow would have healed Cheney's heart without the need of a new one.

Quayle is not a good comparison at all. One-term VP who didn't have much power. Cheney is a two-term VP - not to mention former Secretary of Defense - who might have had more power than anybody who ever held the position.

    Never happen, alas.

    Too bad.
