Leaders in the clubhouse thus far: (i.e. artists with the most mentions):

    Fab Four - 7
    The Jersey Boy - 5
    High Numbers - 4
    Athens Finest - 4

In related news, the Stones and Zeppelin are both tied at 3.

I stained by back deck a few weekends ago to Murmur. I probably had not listened to it in over 10 years, and I was amazed how easily I mumbled along to it.

These aren't necessarily my all-time Top 5, but five very different albums that I know I would never get tired of listening to:

Bruce Hornsby — The Way It Is
They Might Be Giants — They Might Be Giants
Lyle Lovett — Step Inside This House
    Pearl Jam — vs.
REM — Fables of the Reconstruction (by a nose over Reckoning and Life's Rich Pageant)

There are a ton of live albums I considered, and live stuff is just about all I listen to, but I figured those were basically greatest hits collections.

Please reconsider the Violent Femme's first album if you haven't listened in a long time.

Also, cran, 'Zep 2' and 'London Calling' on the same list as Phil Collins?
    That's eclectic.

I'm all over the yard. I wanted to put Jay-Z's Black Album (or perhaps the seminal Reasonable Doubt) on the list, too.

The horn section from Earth, Wind and Fire put the Phil Collins album over the top.

    Tough task.

    1. Tusk – Fleetwood Mac
    2. Automatic for the People – R.E.M.
    3. Fables of the Reconstruction – R.E.M.
    4. Brothers in Arms – Dire Straits
    5. Aja – Steely Dan

Honestly, it pains me to leave any R.E.M. albums behind, at least those before Up. Especially Murmur.
If I could grab one more, probably "Workbook" by Bob Mould.

    Albert,

    Props on your music tastes.

    I'll go:

    Fillmore East.
    Who's Next.
    The Chronic.
    Little Feat, Waiting for Columbus.
    Marvin Gaye, What's Going On.

  10. Pink Floyd - The Wall
Genesis - Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
    Radiohead - The Bends
    U2 - Achtung Baby
    Neil Young - Decade

    1. Elvis Costello, "Get Happy!!"
    2. Neil Finn, "Try Whistling This"
    3. The Who, "Quadrophenia"
    4. Pernice Brothers, "Live a Little"
    5. U2, "Achtung Baby"

As for the great REM debate, give me "Automatic For the People" by a nose over "Reckoning" and "Life's Rich Pageant."

Lifes Rich Pageant reflects the phenomenon that comes up on these type of threads all the time. People often go for the less-known, less-selling albums. I suspect that the vast majority of R.E.M. fans in real life would be taking Document or Automatic for the People.

    Anyhoo:
    --Revolver, Beatles.
    --Rubber Soul, Beatles.
--My Aim Is True, Elvis Costello
    --A Farewell to Kings, Rush
    --Queen, Night at the Opera
