If the TD moves up its deadlines, very little local will get into the Saturday and Sunday papers. I'll be interested to see what they do, though.

I lived, briefly, within walking distance of the TimesDaily office while making the the early morning drive to Decatur to work. It would probably be a 45-minute drive if you did not have pesky – and well enforced – speed limits at Muscle Shoals, at Town Creek and, to a lesser extent, Trinity.

But as noted, you weren't lumbering along in a delivery vehicle either.

It would seem logical for the TD to have the later deadlines so the DD could be printed and returned to the Rivah Citee.

story I've heard is that there will be a distribution center in moulton, which is about 40 minutes from florence and 30 minutes from Decatur. The decatur paper also owns the weekly there. Both florence and decatur circulate in that county, as well.

people I've talked to say there's been no word on either newspaper's deadlines.

Can't imagine the TD would have earlier deadlines, right? I mean, given the circumstances and the travel, Decatur would probably print first, leaving the TimesDaily with...perhaps a later deadline? Hmmmmm....

I know an extra 30 minutes or so would have been nice when I was there.

Horrible, in a regular sort of way.

Someone bring the bag of Penn burgers, too. Might as well add some grease.
