Dear Syracuse...

    I didn't think they deserved the bid after losing to Pitt at home having an 11-point lead with about 2 minutes left to play. Let's not forget they lost to South Florida after playing great against UConn in a losing effort and beating Georgetown prior to the SF game.

    The players they have look like streetballers rather than team players and other than Devendorf they are young squad, and he's been injured most of the season. I hope they bounce next.

    for the record, Dolph Schayes went to New York University. However, the point is well taken - I have been following college basketball for 45 years and playing weak teams at home early in the season is a long Syracuse tradition.
