Any chance one of the superhero men is revealed to be a transgendered woman? Or vice-versa?

Here's the thing with Green Lantern: There have been several men from Earth who have worn the ring. In the link that Piotr posted, Scott Snyder, a DC writer, said it's someone who hasn't been seen since the reboot. Have they introduced all the former Earth Green Lanterns?

I'm going with Plastic Man and withholding any comment about how his powers could be handy for him if that were the case.

Though, when you look at his costume, would it be a surprise?

It's going to be the original Green Lantern, who always had a weakness for wood (true story).

He's not exactly iconic, but I was reading the latest issue of "The Flash" last week and it seems like they're going to make the Pied Piper gay as well.
For those that don't know him, Pied Piper is a Flash villain (and sometimes ally -- ironically, he swings both ways) who uses music to get people to do his bidding. He's been a fairly prominent recurring character in that part of the DC Universe, but wouldn't register with the mainstream audiences.

    If that's true, it's a massive copout.

"We're gonna do this controversial thing with a character who has been around a long time!!!!! But the later incarnations of this character are much more well-known, and this guy hasn't exactly been a prominent part of our universe in a long time!!!!!

But buy it anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CONTROVERSY!!!!!!!!!!!! HISTORIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Anyway, bow down to my lucky dart throw shot in the dark guess great prognostication ability!

Cue the "My Power Ring cannot affect anything Yellow!" jokes.

And Alan Scott's not even a "real" Green Lantern. His powers work a little differently than the others, and he's always been a step removed from the main GL mythos.
