    So he'd rather be a brain-dead conservative?

    From what I've seen, the intelligence requirements are lower on that side of the aisle.

    Same here. But I read it and though he made his case quite well. And it's an informed case, which distinguishes itself from most such writing on the general topic.

    Sorry, I didn't recognize the threadjack.

    I like when people can talk about politics philosophically and strip away all the current-event specifics and people. I try to explain to people that I lean philosophically toward conservative government policy, and nobody ever seems to be able to accept that I can have that philosophy and still be pro-choice and not be a fan of Bush. I vote both sides of the aisle regularly, because I actually consider the subject and the person.

    I think this Chris Rock clip should be required viewing before anyone can post on a political thread:
