I've have never actually watched a DDL movie, but I did see photographs of his character in "Gangs of New York" and I heard somewhere that he took time off from acting to become a shoe repair apprentice in Wisconsin, I think.

I love that early New York vibe he had in the pictures, and that he took time to learn shoe repair and helped out the good people in Wisconsin in need of such services makes me like him.

I've been meaning to watch his movies and I respectfully ask that no references are made to his movies so that I may enjoy them to their fullest when I get around to watching them. I thank you for your understanding.

David Strathairn and Bruce McGill as Seward and Stanton should be good.

For you, sure. Then again, I haven't seen them, either.

And here's the cast of extras for Daniel Day Lewis' Lincoln movie:

    Like all good Tennessee traitors.

BTW, DDL lives the life of his characters while filming...as that pix clearly illustrates.

It wasn't Wisconsin. It was Florence, Italy. See what a pretentious dick he is?

No, I am quite certain he went to Wisconsin to help the good people there out.
