Dan Abrams named GM of MSNBC

Dan Abrams was named the new GM of MSNBC, replacing the fired Rick Kaplan. According to this story, he has taken himself off the air....

 

So he's off to a good start.

 

Boy, is Mike Nifong in trouble now.

 

Abrams is actually not bad. Getting Rita Cosby off the air, or failing that, at least giving her an industrial strength throat losenge would be a good start. They need to junk everything in their prime time lineup after Olbermann and try again.

 

Good God is Rita Cosby an annoying hag. She had some great piece on tonight about a cross-dressing male cop in West Palm Beach, Fla. who busts traffic offenders.

Let's get her and Nancy Grace and ship them to Afghanistan.

 

Abrams on the air, when not specifically hammering a legal issue, reminded me of Bruno Kirby in Good Morning Vietnam.

 

Really. During the start of the Iraq war when everyone was anchoring, he was painful to watch.

 

Dan's girlfriend was Elisabeth Rohm. That's quality work.

 

Yeah, but isn't she a lesbian?

 

Actually, we had a thread about that cop on the Anything Goes page.

And the best part of last night's show (I caught the 1 am re-air) was Rita Cosby interviewing GARY FUCKING BUSEY about the Ben Roethlisberger motorcycle crash.

 

I think it's an intriguing move, and I support it.

 

That's not fair. Dan is an excellent guy who can turn this thing around. Does anyone know when he starts?
