Dammit iTunes!!!! (Yet another iPod thread)

    iTunes informs me there's a new version out --- 7.0.1 for those of you who pay attention to such things.

    7.0.1 is just as problematic as 7.0. I'm on a Mac and had problems with the gapless playback feature trying to analyze songs. I think I had some corrupt audio files that were causing my computer to hang while the analysis was going on.

    In short, I ended up trashing a few music files as well as 7.0.1 and just re-installed iTunes 6 which worked just fine. Maybe I'll try iTunes 7.0.2 when it comes out but for now I can do without the the gapless playback, the album art and the hijacking of my computer while 7.0.1 is running.

    Our computer guy at work told me not to mess with Itunes 7, so I've kept 6 and had no problems at all.
