According to ESPN, Dice-K is supposed to pitch in the spring-training game that comes on ESPN at 1 p.m. ET It will be interesting to check him out.

I watched him pitch against the Phillies last week, and he reminded me of Nomar Garciapara the way he fidgets between pitches.

    RANT TIME!

This will be three times IN A WEEK that the Red Sox have been telecast. I watched Matsuzaka pitch last week against the Pirates and I was like, OK, no problem in showing people what he's all about.

Then the Red Sox are on again ... THE FUCKING NEXT DAY AGAINST THE PHILLIES!

Even my 5-year-old daughter, who is big into baseball, said, "Daddy, the Red Sox are on again."

ESPN, there is more than one team in the Grapefruit League. Hell, there is more than one spring training league. There's the league in Arizona -- the Cactus League. It has some good teams in it, I suggest you look into it.

Does America really clamor for this much Red Sox? And here's the kicker, I never had anything against the Red Sox until these Fenway jock-sniffing assholes covered them like they were a local team.

    Give it a fucking rest.

OTOH, Bubbles, I took the guy in a fantasy draft last night, haven't seen him pitch, and am grateful for the chance.

I do, however, agree with your larger point.

    I'll let you hold 10.

Cactus League isn't good for East Coast TV. Those late start times out there would leave games that cut right into ESPN's 5 p.m. ATH/PTI slot.

Unrelated, but I'm disappointed Bubbler. You went from pictures of Jim Ganter, which had me orgasmic, to pictures of Mr. 3000? I'm going to have to insist on some Larry Hisle and soon.

[blue]ESPN won't be showing any Yankees-Red Sox games this year, right?

it's amazing that ESPN keeps putting things on their channel that clearly no one wants to see. their ratings when the sox are on YET AGAIN must be terrible.

Haven't heard much about him. Is this the Japanese pitcher?
