But since you bring it up, given the sometimes ridiculous state of parenthood in this country, there have been times where I've almost appreciated the idea of mandatory testing before you can become a parent.

To me, asking that question implies that's what I was saying. I re-read what I wrote that prompted your comment and honestly don't see how you came up with the thought that I would advocate a "test."

We've had this problem before, TP. Quite often, I just don't think we fully understand each other.
