Maron should go on SNL. Funny how he never ever talks about the show (or Lorne Michaels) on his podcast.

It's interesting that Ferguson is leaving at the end of this year, probably at least several months before Letterman retires and probably right around the time Colbert leaves Comedy Central.

It would seem strange to launch the new 12:30 show before the new 11:30 show, but I don't see how they'll have a choice. It's not like they're going to put Colbert there in the interim.

He'd actually be really good on Update. Yeah, he's quite obsessive about how he blew his audition there.

Maron seems such a tragic figure.

I think there are a lot of comedians who are very similar to him, as in guys who are very well-respected, but for whatever reason, never got a network show or talk show. He thinks he's smarter and funnier than most of his peers, and he probably is, but he never experienced the level of success that he feels he should have.

There are a lot like him and then there are the tortured souls like David Cross, who is an amazing comedian, but has also sold himself out when the big money offers come in.

At least Patton Oswalt (a favorite of mine) jokes about being unable to turn things down when he's offered a ton of money.

This. Many, many times this. Hardwick's a funny guy, personable.

At Midnight is a fantastic show. It can be argued that he has parlayed his podcast into more success than anyone. He's likable, has a very loyal following and would go over well with younger people.

I haven't heard about the Stewart feud. It seems like all of Maron's feuds boil down to him acting like an asshole 15 years ago.

His bit about "selling out" and doing the casino show full of drunk fans where he just stood on the stage and the fans yelled out King of Queens quotes at him killed me.

Joel McHale hosting the WHCD this year. He'd be great in the spot, I figure CBS will feel pressure to NOT hire a white, Catholic male.

Esquire wrote a piece saying Anna Kendrick should get it. I'd watch her weld, just because ... Anna Kendrick.
