    I've seen many papers run a line in the baseball section annoucning that the game ran long and then what the stat line was a press time.

    You could easily follow that up with a editorial piece before the next games recap to catch the readers up.

    I've debated that, and decided against it, except for the community sports announcements. Even then, there's always the one idiot who'll send it in two hours after deadline saying, "I know its late, but can you squeeze it in?" (no), or the ones who send it stuff the day after claiming "We didn't know when the deadline was, can you run it anyway?" (no, and good luck trying to tell the judge in traffic court you didn't know what the speed limit was).
