More facts are coming in, and the investigation into the couples death is now being approached (as Wheel Gunner had suggested early on) as a 'suicide by cop.'

There also seems to be a motive developing, as the article linked above mentions a 'business-type thing' as a potential source of distress for the married pair.

Geez, if you are determined to kill yourself, why bring others into it?

Some more details have emerged, such as that the couple signed in with a fake name and fake address at the hotel:

More details. 1) Supposed 9-1-1 call by husband before the shooting but after police had been dispatched to the hotel, and 2) An apparently pending $1 million inheritance by the couple. The 'suicide by cop' angle might be diminishing:

Her paranoia about the inheritance explains why she would have checked into the hotel under an assumed name.

My new theory is that the wife was mentally unstable in some way and perhaps convinced that the police were coming to take her money, or something...But the husband getting shot still doesn't add up. He was, by all counts, lucid and normal, compared to his domineering wife. Why would he grab a gun and point it at cops? I wonder if he wasn't (accidentally) hit in the spray of bullets fired at his wife, and this business about him picking up the gun is just the cover story the cops came up with on short notice.

I just wanna know that the town was locked down, since those two were most likely going to go on a 30-plus-person shooting spree.

More info, including a quote from the husband's 9-1-1 call:

More about the apparent pending inheritance, as well as the daughter saying the mother was sans clothes because that's how she slept

Many of us sleep in the bare, and don't run around as such in public waving a gun.
