After 10 years of smoking cigars hourly, drinking scotch regularly, and bitching about how these "damn kids today" couldn't hold his jock constantly, I'd say he'd be a great candidate for a coronary if tried to play even limited minutes tomorrow.

But of he's interested Steve Nash is excited to guard him.

Take off your 1996 glasses and stop this silliness, guys.

Could he "play" in that he might be better than a few of the 12th men in the league and be able to hit a jump shot or two? I suppose.

Could he play more than single-digit minutes without getting absolutely undressed by anybody he was guarding? Naw.

But he'd still be better than Jordan at 50 until some goon took his head off.

No actually he wouldn't. It wouldn't be a goon and he simply would not be able to keep up.

    Fact.

Wonder if Cement Head would be game?

How is Gretzky's arthritis these days?

Well, Jordan is probably about 150 pounds lighter than Magic Johnson.

    Gretzky?

At 50 Gordie Howe played in 58 WHA games, had 19 goals and 24 assists.

At 51 Gordie Howe played in 80 NHL games, had 15 goals and 26 assists.

    Gretzky?

2 completely different players and 2 completely different eras.

Same principle, though. You just took the suggestion as an insult to hockey and can't handle it.

I doubt Gretzky would be good, but I think he'd keep up better on the ice than Jordan would now on the court.
