    I've always believed from just looking at Rickie Weeks of the Brewers that he would have been a good running back or defensive back. He's not much of a baseball player, though.

    I remember hearing Carl Crawford got offered a football scholarship to Nebraska and I think UCLA wanted him for hoops also.

    Todd Helton was Peyton Manning's backup at Tennessee.

    Marcus Pollard played for 14 years as a tight end even though he didn't play college football (basketball player at Bradley).

    Gil Brandt in Dallas was a pioneer in finding athletes from other sports to play football. Like future football novelist Peter Gent, a basketball player at Michigan State.

    Hell, the Indianapolis Colts in training camp have a guy whose professional experience is rugby. They're trying to make him a linebacker.
