While the bulk of it was transcribing an interview, there is something to be said for recognizing a story when it presents itself. I don't think anyone else was pursuing Luchs to do a tell all. Most probably didn't even give it a second thought when he was suspended for a year and all but left the industry. While it is easy to say "Of course agent give gifts/money to their recruits" it is big to get one to talk on the record about it, while naming names and detailing what gifts were handed out. He laid out the entire game for anyone who may of been curious about how it all went down. And it is big news right now, especially considering he is commenting on current investigations and dragging guys like Mel Kipper into the mix. This on the heels of USC being torn down Reggie Bush giving back the Heisman, and a number of other schools being placed under investigation for violations of this sort.
