In a world where crappy 18-year-old bombs get unwanted, disastrous sequels, Larry the Cable Guy still can find work.
Because someone must've demanded it ... no, wait, nobody sane could've demanded this, asked politely for this or even thought it was a good idea ... "Jingle All the Way 2" is starting production in March, with a holiday (direct to DVD) release.
Starring Larry the Cable Guy and the WWE's Santino Marella.
    Holy fucking God.

I'd say this is the worst sequel idea ever, but we did get "A Christmas Story 2" not that long ago.

Jingle All The Way was a "hit?"

    With whom?

That belongs to this movie (you can trust me, I'm a masochist who sat through the whole thing):

Obviously to the 12-year-old who thought it was "rad" when it came out and now finds himself behind a desk with a budget to make direct to DVD movies.

It's not as bad if it goes straight to DVD.

I thought this was rock bottom in terms of original to sequel.

    But perhaps I was wrong.

If we're talking theatrical releases, does it get much worse than Caddyshack 2?

Speed 2 might be in the conversation as well.

    Highlander II: The Quickening

Not as craptacular as Highlander: The Source, but The Quickening got a theatrical release. And if you were a Highlander fan and you don't remember The Source, count yourself very lucky.

Yeah, IIRC, Highlander 2 came out when I was in high school and we were so excited to see it and it was complete shit.

for the record, 'Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo' was better than the original.
