Column published, then pulled... your reactions

    That's also a reason you don't have beat writers writing opinion columns about teams they cover. It's why I haven't written one about the teams I've covered as a beat writer.

    Right - newspapers are forever complaining the public doesn't know the difference between columnists and beat writers, then they do this.

    I guess the assigning editor should have said, "Write me a column, beat writer. But pussy it, would ya?"

    Thank you everyone for your feedback -- good and bad. This is why I posted it (although I've been advised it's probably wise to get this thread off of here... and, yes, I see the irony).
