  1. I disagree with this. I think that you can end up doing some serious verbal gymnastics to avoid it sometimes. I think using it well, on top of that, humanizes you to your readers. I think that not using it makes you sound like this is on authority from the mountain top - "THE WAY IT IS." Slipping in there occasionally a reminder that this is the world as you see it can help you gain their empathy with your opinion.
