The Orlando Sentinel seeks an experienced editor to supervise college coverage and take a leadership role in day-to-day operations of our award-winning Sports section. We aggressively cover the Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, UCF Knights, recruiting and more. This editor will supervise up to eight reporters.

    Required:
-- At least five years experience working closely with reporters to help good ideas become great.
-- Proven track record of producing ambitious, engaging, informative and enterprising content in print and online.
-- Strong planning, editing, digital and communication skills.
-- Demonstrated knowledge of college issues and trends.
-- Understanding of how to use social media to expand our reach.

Send resume, cover letter, references and no more than six work samples that demonstrate your leadership skills in print and online to:

Supposedly Stephens wanted to fill this one before he fills the national job, but obviously there will be more gossip on that job than this one.

It would seem like a good idea for the colleges editor to help pick the national college writer.

One of the reasons these jobs are still open is because Orlando is telling candidates it will not pay for them to relocate.

I haven't even heard names on this job - anyone know who has interviewed?

Wow. Makes one optimistic about how much the job pays, too.

I heard an editor from a small paper in Florida interviewed. You guys can figure out who it was, assuming it's true.
