We're having an amusing discussion at the office today. A discussion about a particular university's mascot led a to a discussion of the "gayest" mascot of all major colleges. Hopefully no one finds this offensive...the discussion actually began when a gay man here at the office said "I've always thought that (X University's mascot) was totally gay." All in good fun, folks.

    The finalists:

    Arizona State
    [IMG]

    Kansas
    [IMG]

New Mexico State (this was a divisive candidate here)

    San Diego (another controversial inclusion)

    Seton Hall

I'm voting for Bucco Bruce's cousin.

The university of Minnesota has a coming out day every spring, and every year Goldy Gopher is the first one to jump through the ceremonial lavender door, to chants of "Goldy's Gay, clap, clap, clap-clap-clap."

so yeah, I vote for him.

"Here's a quarter, go call Travis Tritt?" Is he an expert on gay mascots?

Zeke, I think the translation is "Here's a quarter, call someone who cares." Fair enough, slappy. I never intended this to be a serious topic.

One of his songs is titled, "Here's a quarter, call someone who cares"

One of his better songs. I also like "It's A Great Day To Be Alive," even though it's kind of dorky. We can always make this a country music thread instead.

Good to know my translation skills were only flawed here by a lack of knowledge regarding the lyrical stylings of Travis Tritt.

I still vote Goldy, although my second-place ballot would be punched for New Mexico State, in honor of Brokeback Mountain.

A slightly-more-metrosexual Goldy, whose androgny is enhanced by the fact that the female mascot is named Goldie, and the only change is longer eyelashes.
