Well, in theory, we already got started last Saturday when Eastern Washington beat Sam Houston on the Red Menace in Cheney. Having one running thread for the whole season is ridiculous.

    Best games o' the week:
    THURSDAY
    Texas A&M at South Carolina
    Boise State vs. Ole Miss

    FRIDAY
    Villanova at Syracuse (upset alert)

    SATURDAY
Penn State vs. UCF (volcano alert)
UCLA at Virginia (Mike London shitting himself alert)
North Dakota State at Iowa State (Bison win all their FBS games alert)
    West Virginia vs. Alabama
    Clemson at Georgia
    Florida State vs. Oklahoma State
    Wisconsin vs. LSU

    MONDAY
    Miami at Louisville

But Boise State never schedules tough schools.

I should have added Wake and La.-Monroe to the list, just for Sonner.

Why for me? My gripe is the absence of the point spreads. Get your shit together, Cosmo!

Ole Miss is 10-1 in its last 11 bowl games.

Florida State v. Oklahoma State could be wildly entertaining.

West Virginia v. Alabama may be closer than you think.

Wisky v. LSU just seems like a 8-6 final is in store here.

WTF is Wisconsin doing playing LSU? They're the kings of the cupcake. And with Braxton Miller out, it's the kind of year they could actually get to the finish line undefeated.

LSU -4 is Christmas in August.

    You're right.

Arkansas at Auburn is a decent opener, if for no other reason than to see how long Nick Marshall sits. Malzahn has said only that he "won't start," which brings to mind the classic 1987 incident involving the same Auburn Tigers.

Starting quarterback Jeff Burger was arrested for having a handgun under his car seat over the summer, and Pat Dye said Burger would not start the season-opener against Texas. Sophomore Reggie Slack started the game and fumbled on the first play. Burger then trotted onto the field and played the rest of the game.
