    I don't know shit about the team, and I liked how you focused on the long time coach and his first losing season.

    Now for the nit picking.

    You said Plough and Engle left. Did they graduate? Transfer?

    I would want more stats about the returning players. Those might be in another story, though.

    The lede with Steve Young, is he even related to this team? You might have been stuck, but I might have gone in a different direction with it. Maybe note that we were still in Vietnam the last time this team had a losing season or the Beatles were still making albums.

    If I'm not mistaken, Ken O'Brien went to UC Davis. A feature on him, in a CFB preview section, would be interesting. Especially if you could get him to talk about his time at UC Davis and his thoughts on the current program.
