    And I'll chime in with the second-most used SJ cliche:

    "If it was MY kid that got hit that coach would be intensive care right now!"

    I am truly disgusted by this, particularly how easily it was let go. Lousy reporting, or lack of reporting, by at least two newspapers and a very weak response by the school.

    I have covered a lot of volleyball at the high school and college levels. I've met coaches who were complete dirtbags, but I have never seen one do something like that.

    I agree. It's the players' job to always keep their eyes on the ball. In this case, she would have had a black eye, but the point still stands.
